What I wanted and what I got
Wanted hand recorders, did not have hand recorders that could be used with Mac
Seven iPods, with speakers
Management - iPods
All iPods are connected to one computer (there is hardware to sync them up easily)
Limit what is on the iPods
Charge with both the computer and external
Each iPod has a marked bag, with marked iPod and marked speakers
Limit songs on iPod
Students are assigned a bag
Short explaination of how I want them back
iPod turned off
Button switch in locked
Speakers turned off
Allow 5-7 minutes at end of class period to turn in
What I didn't use
Voice recorder - easier to use an actual recorder with card, than download voice and grab file.
iPod Games
Can load them up on iPod, extra practice for students
No accountability
iPod Projects
Sunset Ridge Fight Songs (Tempo unit, students selected tempos, then rehearsed) - Fifth Grade
Composer Project - (After students edit, took files for rehearsal) - Fifth Grade
Show rehearsal - 117 students with seven iPods and speakers. Student are in their "POD" groups (that's another presentation)
